Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad WEEK!!

My week recap:

Monday:

Tuesday:
Heard from Stanford regarding Brian's test results. Not good news. Rained all day long.

Wednesday:
Heard from local doctor confirming bad test results and got details about new chemos - 3-4 hours of IV drips in the clinic starting Monday.

Thursday:
Terrible wind and rain all day. Got a phone call letting me know my neighbor was concerned because this was in my backyard:

That is was our trampoline. The trampoline that brings the kids to MY yard. The trampoline that elicits laughter and squeals of delight. The trampoline that is currently completely disassembled with two broken frame pieces and a ripped net.
That is our tree. I thank God for that tree, else the same neighbor that called regarding the catastrophe would currently be eating off the trampoline because it probably would have crashed into her kitchen.

The WEEKEND:
This is the forecast for the weekend, the last weekend before Brian starts chemo, the weekend Brian wanted to really kick back and have a good time:

Did I mention my sister, Mindi, her husband, Matt, and son, Logan, are coming to visit? Did I mention IT IS MID-APRIL?!!?!

I'm afraid to ask what else could happen. But, I do know that attitude is a choice. I also know that lots of deep breaths, a quick prayer, and good company help our attitude. That and a big juicy steak with a bottle of red wine.

KEEP BELIEVING

  3. Angie,
do you have a local gourmet store nearby? Know what goes well with steak and wine? Creme brulee! (sp?)
Go buy the little kit with the torch thingie. It'll be fun!!
Or, go buy some creme brulee from the store, fun, too!
Mmmm, steak and wine...can I come?

That happened to our trampoline last year.
    Love you.

  5. Vent away!!! You definitely have earned the right.

When you are done . . . do something for yourself . . . something that makes you smile. Bubble bath. Sappy movie. Shopping trip. Chocolate . . .

Then, hug your family and remember how awesome you and they are.

Thinking of you and saying prayers.

Oh, and remember, with the weather . . . the SUN is out, we just can't always see it!

  8. i just had a good workout-laughing, at some funny email i got from a friend...

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping," now I just "chunky dunk." hee-hee

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose-fitting
clothing. If I HAD any loose-fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, U C L A.

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

and...Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

    hey angie, hope your smiling!
=^) it's raining here too-again! hope you have an awesome weekend!

  13. Oh Angie. Vent away. So sorry about your weather, results, trampoline, and tire. Oh man... when it rains it pours.

Perhaps God intended for a huge indoor cuddle fest all week long.

  15. Angie -

So sorry you're having such a bad week! Sometimes when it rains, it pours... But remember, God doesn't always stop the rain from coming, but He'll definitely hold you 'til it does! (From my favorite Third Day song)

I keep telling myself that surely spring will come eventually. Winter can't last forever - right??!!!

I'm praying for you, Brian and the boys and I'm STILL BELIEVING!!

    Love,
    Marcie

  17. read your question on vintage 30's column. i'm a fellow box feet sufferer. size 7.5 though, so not itty bitty. I find Zappos carries Wides. And Maryland shoes (?) catalog. But its hopeless finding style for women under the age of 70.

  19. Angie - I'm so sorry it's been such a difficult week. I wish I could send you some nice weather to brighten your day but we don't have any to give. How about some pseudo-sunshine to help you out. I sure hope things turn better next week.
